Four Tet's BABY was not a commissioned FPV shoot: Joanna Nordahl built the video remotely from Andrés Aguilera's existing original footage.

As cinematographer and creator of every source image, Andrés worked through an extensive editorial selection with Nordahl, shaping material from different countries into one visual progression before the digital footage was printed to motion-picture film and rescanned.

The Challenge

The music video had to be constructed entirely from an extensive archive of original imagery captured across very different countries, environments and moments. The central challenge was editorial and photographic: finding a sequence of images that felt intentionally shot for one film rather than assembled from unrelated material. Every shot needed to support the rhythm and atmosphere of the track while maintaining a coherent progression of scale, movement, colour and emotion. Because the collaboration was remote, the visual language had to be developed through a long and highly detailed selection process.

Our Approach

Working closely with director Joanna Nordahl, we carried out an extensive remote curation process, reviewing and refining the footage until every image had a clear musical and narrative purpose. As Director of Photography and creator of all the source imagery, Andrés was able to provide context for each shot and help shape a visual journey that moved naturally between landscapes, cities and abstract aerial perspectives. Once the edit was established, the digital footage was printed onto motion-picture film and rescanned. This additional photochemical process unified material from different sources and gave the final video a tactile, imperfect texture that became a defining part of its identity.
