Play Has No Limits

The campaign was created during the COVID-19 period, when conventional international production was heavily restricted and the creative team relied on a combination of archive material and specially produced imagery. The challenge was not simply supplying an attractive drone shot, but identifying one precise piece of footage from a very large personal archive that could carry the scale, discovery and sense of limitlessness required for the global PS5 launch. The selected image also needed to sit naturally beside material created by multiple contributors without feeling visually disconnected.

We treated the archive as a creative production tool rather than a stock library. After interpreting the brief, we reviewed the existing body of work specifically for movement, geography, emotional scale and compatibility with the campaign edit. A waterfall sequence filmed in Indonesia was selected and licensed because its camera movement and environment delivered the exact sense of exploration the directors were looking for. The remote workflow allowed the production to access a distinctive, production-ready image at a time when recreating it would have been extremely difficult.
