Austral E-Tech
Renault Austral E-Tech turned central Madrid into a surreal VFX world where water covered the streets and animals moved through the air.
For Henry, director Sebastian Strasser and cinematographer Roman Vasyanov, Andriu FPV designed permitted urban flights around both the real city's obstacles and digital elements that were absent on set, setting speed, height and eyelines for a credible final composite.
This shoot combined the complexity of flying in central Madrid with a VFX-heavy visual world. Exclusion zones, permits, traffic control, radio conditions and public-space risk all had to be managed while the camera movement anticipated water added to the streets and animals swimming through the air. The drone therefore had to interact convincingly with elements that did not exist during principal photography.
We coordinated the urban operation around tightly controlled windows and designed every line with both real obstacles and future digital layers in mind. Camera speed, height and eyelines were chosen so the CGI could inhabit the same physical space naturally. The result joined a demanding real-world flight with a surreal post-production environment without making either feel disconnected.
