Renault introduced the confidential Clio E-Tech among the curves and openings of Valencia's City of Arts and Sciences.

For Iconoclast, director Simon Schmitt and cinematographer Mathias Ruth, Andriu FPV turned the architecture into the shot design itself, pairing 9mm and 15mm lenses for close structural threading and wider reveals while permits and prototype security stayed tightly controlled.

The Challenge

The City of Arts and Sciences offered extraordinary architecture but very little tolerance for error. The flight paths threaded through and around complex structures while a confidential new Clio was being protected under strict security. Permissions, public-space controls and the precision required by the architecture made every line unusually demanding.

Our Approach

We used the architecture as an active part of the storytelling, designing lines that revealed the car through openings, curves and structural layers rather than simply showing the location. The 9mm and 15mm lenses gave us two scales of movement, from intense proximity to broader architectural reveals. Extensive preparation turned a restrictive location into the visual engine of the film.
