Avatar 2 × Mercedes
For Mercedes-Benz × Avatar: The Way of Water, Andriu FPV contributed an existing original image—not footage from the campaign's principal shoot.
For BWGTBLD and director Jaron Albertin, Andriu FPV curated its archive and licensed a waterfall-dive sequence whose real scale, descending movement and proximity to the landscape could sit credibly beside the film's otherworldly imagery.
The campaign needed real natural imagery capable of living beside the highly recognisable world of Avatar. The selected shot had to feel extraordinary and otherworldly while remaining unmistakably real, and it also needed to integrate into a film combining Earth landscapes, automotive imagery and material associated with Avatar: The Way of Water. This made footage selection unusually specific: a generic beauty shot would not be enough. The production was looking for a camera movement with the correct sense of immersion, scale and descent to bridge the visual languages of Earth and Pandora.
We curated the original archive around the campaign's environmental and cinematic requirements and supplied a waterfall-dive sequence whose movement created a natural transition into the world envisioned by the directors. Because the material had been created independently and already carried a strong visual identity, the production could incorporate a genuinely difficult-to-reproduce image without staging a new expedition. The shot was selected for the precision of its flight path, its proximity to the landscape and its ability to feel both documentary-real and visually impossible.
