Family and the Fjords
Two opposite environments in one forty-second film: inside the Iona, flying between passengers, through a theatre and around an infinity pool, and then the Norwegian fjord at Olden with a glacier and a zipline.
Two aircraft chosen by location, not by shooting day. Protected FPV for everything indoors, where ducted props are what makes it safe among passengers, and the open platform outside for the distance the fjord needs.
Two opposite environments inside one forty-second film. Indoors on the Iona, the drone had to fly between passengers, through a theatre auditorium and around an infinity pool, with people within a few metres of the aircraft at all times. Outdoors, the Norwegian fjord at Olden with a glacier, a zipline and paddleboarding on open water. And the ship keeps sailing while you shoot.
Two aircraft for one job, chosen by location rather than by shooting day. Protected FPV for everything inside the ship, where ducted props are what makes it safe to fly among passengers, and the open platform outside, where the fjord gives the distance and the speed the landscape needs. Planning the switch by location meant the right aircraft was always the one already in the air.
