IONIQ 9
Hyundai's IONIQ 9 began in a quarry south of Madrid that would become an alien landscape and shift from day to night in post-production.
For ProdCo, Art Practice and cinematographer Daniel Landing, Andriu FPV treated VFX as part of the camera department: scanning roughly ten hectares and flying for clean geography, parallax and references the digital environment could use.
The quarry was only the physical starting point. In the finished film, the environment would become an alien landscape and transition from day into night. That meant every aerial composition had to function both as a real image and as a foundation for a much larger digital world. Terrain scale, sightlines, lighting direction and vehicle placement all had to remain useful once the location was rebuilt in VFX.
We planned the aerial language with the post-production transformation in mind and scanned the complete terrain, around ten hectares of quarry, so it could be accurately reconstructed in 3D. Flights were designed to preserve clean geography, parallax and usable references for the VFX team. Rather than treating CGI as a later layer, we treated it as part of the camera department from the first scout.
